Does Master Obbies' 'Obby Builder' Really Stand Up Against Obby Creator?
Is Obby Builder really better than Obby Creator? Does it justify moving all your projects?
A few months ago Master Obbies debuted their new title "Obby Builder" to mixed fan reactions. On one hand, a new high-quality game in the obby builder space is something many fans were desperate for, but on the other; it's a steep climb to ask players to move or even abandon their previous obbies from Obby Creator.
Let's start with the quality. The game seems actually polished and really usable as both a tool and a game. There's some rough edges, sure, but overall it packs a huge punch against Obby Creator's dominance. While it has less interactive parts and even primitives, the few ones they do have have the Master Obbies level of quality and design. They're not terrible and they always work.
But, let's be honest. Although there's a small community of dedicated players and some great obbies to play, there just needs to be a lot more for this game to get anywhere and especially compete with Obby Creator. And right now, I just can't see that yet. The game is still missing a large amount of features and the overall UX lacks in comparison to an established tool like Obby Creator.
In the end, whether this game succeeds or not will really come down to the community it builds and how competitive Master Obbies wants to be with this title.
